Scope first. Costs second.

Do both quotes cover the same job?

Check nine cost categories before comparing two automation quotes. Enter only generic line-item amounts. Everything stays in this browser tab.

This tool compares quote completeness and entered costs. A safety price does not establish that assessment or engineering work is complete. It gives no safety approval, labor replacement estimate or ROI promise.

Amounts use two-decimal currency units. Exact integer-cent arithmetic: monthly costs multiply by months; annual costs are prorated by months / 12, rounded once per line to the nearest cent, half up. One-time costs are added once. This assumes flat rates and annual proration; contract minimums, taxes, escalation and discounts must be captured in the quote scope. Currency conversion is not provided.

Known: priced explicitly, including an explicit zero. Unknown: unresolved. Not included: excluded and still a cost gap. Included elsewhere: mapped to one priced category with the same billing unit and counted only once.

Completeness and cost comparison

Calculations have not started. Every blank amount is unknown. Full comparisons require every category resolved and the same currency.

Questions to settle before you compare

  1. Ask which tooling, integration, commissioning and plant changes are covered. Check whether a bundled item is also priced separately.
  2. Get the safety scope and responsible assessor confirmed independently of the price.
  3. Separate recurring service from one-time commissioning. Confirm billing units, minimum terms and currency.
  4. Review tax, shipping, downtime, support exclusions and rate increases. Record assumptions alongside the numbers.

Universal Robots identifies accessories, integration, future maintenance and factory layout changes as investment considerations. This checklist builds on those cost categories without using vendor prices or savings claims. Official cost considerations · Reviewed 2026-10-11.
